My experience at Moss Pawn was everything thing I hoped it would be. The Moss Pawn staff welcomed me making me feel like part of the staff from the moment I entered their establishment. Master Gunsmith Ray Vaughn introduced me to all of the staff members, owner Carey Moss, and gave me a tour as the first order of business. My First day was introduction to many of the tools, hardware, and guns I would eventually be assisting on. My first task was to fully disassemble, clean, and too repair a LeeEnfield rifle. This was no easy task not having any experience with antique rifles, Ray Vaughn walked me through the process and allowed me to do the handling to build my confidence. I learned many skills from Moss Pawn such as repair on revolvers, striker fired pistols, rifles, sighting in precision rifles, cerakote application, diagnostics, customer relations, business to business relations, and many approaches on how to problem solve. Moss Pawn is a high volume shop which sees clients from all walks of life who may be seeking repair on their weapons, custom builds, or too even get a chance to speak with well renowned Ray Vaughn. I had the pleasure of creating relationships with the people I worked with and even the people that I assisted or met through Moss Pawn. I would recommend Moss Pawn to all SDI students to help facilitate the solid foundation of gunsmithing in a high volume market as an understudy to our esteemed faculty and industry professional Ray Vaughn.
