Debra McCoskey-Reisert serves as a lead faculty member for SDI, where she helps train, coach, and support the faculty body. Prior to coming to SDI, she owned a graphic design business before moving to higher education in 2008. In addition to running the non-profit organization Bobby’s Bikes, which helps children obtain their own bicycles to ride, Debra has taught at various universities and currently teaches the Introduction to Business class at SDI. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Argosy University, a Master of Business Administration from Chancellor University, and a Master of Education from Western Governors University.
Debra’s great passion is teaching and making a difference in students’ lives. She came to SDI because she wanted to be part of a growing institution, adding “After meeting some members of the SDI team, I was impressed by the company’s culture.” Debra’s favorite part of teaching is watching her students’ growth and development: “It’s gratifying to be a part of students’ journeys as they chase their dreams.”
Outside of the classroom, Debra says her perfect day would involve “hiking with my family and dogs in new places and taking a long nap afterward.” A married mom of two grown sons, she enjoys going to comedy shows, attending film festivals, and running. She also loves exploring new places and says her favorite vacation spot is Ireland. If time were not a factor, Debra says she wants to learn more about “healthy, multi-cultural cooking to expand my abilities in the kitchen.”
