2023 Firearms Stocking Stuffers

  • Jack Collins

The holidays are a great time of year. In my family, all of the aunts, uncles, and cousins meet up at my grandmother’s house to eat dumplings before that one uncle shows up late with a different woman than last year.

One of the hardest things I need to do every year is shop for Christmas presents since I have 15 relatives to get gifts for. And one of the biggest challenges they’ll probably face is trying to figure out what to get for me.

If you’ve ever found yourself in my family’s unenviable situation, you’re not alone. It’s difficult to get gifts for gun enthusiasts, especially if you’re not familiar with the hobby yourself. Fortunately, there are actually plenty of affordable gifts you can get for that gun lover in your life. Here are some of them.

Slings

Slings are not only a functional piece of gun gear, but they can also be a fashion statement. For AKs and ARs, the Vickers Sling is pretty hard to beat. As far as slings that look cool, I’m in love with ‘80s and ‘90s aesthetics right now.

Magazines

You can never have too many magazines! Here are some of my favorites:

  • AR Magazines: It’s hard to beat Magpul’s PMAGs. If you live in a state that allows it, a 40-rounder would make a great stocking stuffer.
  • AK Magazines: There’s a little more variance when it comes to AK magazines. If you can afford the price tag, Bakelite magazines are cool and collectible. For a more affordable option, Arsenal makes my favorite AK mags.
  • Pistol Magazines: This will get a little trickier, because each different model of pistol out there usually takes proprietary magazines. Once you find out what kind of pistol the gun lover in your life has, grab one made by its original manufacturer here.

Ear Protection

You only get one pair of ears, and you want to protect them as much as possible. Ear protection is the best way to do that.

  • Active Ear Protection: If you want top-of-the-line ear protection, Peltor Tactical makes some of the best noise-canceling muffs on the market.
  • Passive Ear Protection: For passive ear protection, I usually keep some over-ear muffs made by Walker’s Razor handy
