
National Military Appreciation Month (NMAM) is observed throughout May, and in 2025, we proudly join this celebration of those who have served and continue to serve our nation. Established by the U.S. Senate in 1999, NMAM honors the dedication and sacrifice of military personnel and their families.

Public Service Recognition Week – May 4–10, 2025
A dedicated week to honor individuals serving in federal, state, county, and local governments who ensure effective and responsive governance.
Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day) – May 8, 2025
Commemorates Germany’s unconditional surrender in 1945, marking the end of World War II in Europe.
Military Spouse Appreciation Day – May 9, 2025
Recognizing the incredible contributions and sacrifices made by military spouses, who are crucial pillars supporting our Armed Forces.
Armed Forces Day – May 17, 2025
A collective celebration honoring those currently serving in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and Space Force.
Memorial Day – May 26, 2025
A solemn day of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Americans are encouraged to observe a moment of silence at 3:00 pm local time.
