The prep course is for individuals looking to pass the FAA Part 107 Aeronautical Knowledge Test for a Remote Pilot Certificate.

Tempe, AZ — Sonoran Desert Institute (SDI) is pleased to announce the launch of its FAA Part 107 Exam Prep course in the school’s online Training Center. This prep course is for individuals, including novices, or drone pilots looking to pass the FAA Part 107 exam and to fly drones commercially. The exam is administered at an FAA Testing Center.

“A commercial and public service drone revolution has been going on during the last few years, creating many opportunities for entrepreneurs and others looking for an exciting future in high tech,” said John Minor, Managing Director/Dean of the School of Uncrewed Technology.

The SDI FAA Part 107 Exam Prep course takes learners far beyond test prep. Students will access information on fundamental aviation concepts, airspace, regulations, weather, and more in a convenient online format. With built-in assessments, students can gain confidence and knowledge before they schedule their FAA Part 107 exam and set themselves up for future success as professional remote pilots.

The FAA Part 107 Exam Prep course joins the other Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) industry program SDI offers: the Certificate in Uncrewed Technology – Aerial Systems (CUT-AS). Students of CUT-AS can learn principles, techniques, and skills that will prepare them to be successful in the uncrewed and autonomous systems industry. The Certificate consists of four 4 credit hour courses, each 8 weeks in length. The program can be completed in as little as 16 weeks.

“There is a huge demand for skilled workers knowledgeable in UAS technology and technology management,” explained Minor. “SDI’s 100% online certificate program and FAA Part 107 Exam Prep course will prepare students to enter the drone revolution workforce.”
